FDA Webinar: Application of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning for Precision Medicine

In collaboration with the University of Maryland's CERSI group, the FDA will be holding a one-day workshop “Application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Precision Medicine” on Friday, February 17, 2023.  It is a virtual meeting and details with registration information are available through this webpage.

The noted meeting objectives are:

  1. Review progress made from implementing artificial intelligence and machine learning in drug development and precision medicine.
  2. Discuss methodologies and best practices used today in this field
  3. Discuss technical challenges such as bias, generalizability, and opacity and how they can lead to issues of data disparity, fairness, and trustworthiness. We will also discuss how to address these challenges.

AI can be a great tool but also as noted in objective 3 is not without some problems.  I'll be attending to learn more and keep an eye on this important field.
